Using AI for Content Without Sounding Like AI: Our Editorial System
How we use AI as a research and outlining assistant — while keeping every published piece in a real human voice.
AI is brilliant at research, outlines and first-pass structure. It's terrible at voice. Here's how we combine the two without ending up with another generic listicle.
Where AI helps
- Topic clustering and SERP analysis.
- Outlining around real search intent.
- Stress-testing arguments and counterpoints.
- Generating data tables and comparison grids.
Where humans must own it
- The opening 100 words — the voice signature.
- Original opinions, takes, and predictions.
- Real client examples, numbers, and quotes.
- The final read-aloud edit pass.
The two-pass rule
Every AI-assisted draft gets two human passes: one for accuracy, one for voice. If a sentence wouldn't survive being read aloud to a client, it gets rewritten.
